Does insurance cost more if you have a sporty car versus a truck?

I'm a 17 year old who's currently covered under my parents being an unexpected driver. They currently have 2 cars. I am considering acquiring my own vehicle next week and therefore I'll need to be a key driver. Our issue is basically fit it would it not be cheaper having it owned over a separate insurance carrier and under my title and place the ownership in my own parents brand?
Does anyone recognize any? I have got an endorsement on my whole Irish licence (for about 2 years now) and my insurance has skyrocketed this year. Most Insurance companies wont quote individuals with endosements. Can anyone help please??
